Circuit court hears pleas and sentencings

PARKERSBURG- Several hearings took place Thursday in Wood County Circuit Court.

* Teresa Lynn Sees Dennis, 43, in custody at the North Central Regional Jail, was in court for motions. A motion by her attorney John Oshoway to continue her trial to a later date was granted and the new date was set for Oct. 30. Judge J.D. Beane granted a motion for a bond hearing at 9 a.m. Aug. 8. She was indicted by the September 2011 grand jury on a charge of child neglect resulting in death.

* Jonathan Earl Hamrick, 23, in custody at the North Central Regional Jail, entered a plea agreement to plead guilty to a charge of delivery of a controlled substance and manufacturing a controlled substance as charged by the May 2012 grand jury. His sentencing was set for 9 a.m. Sept. 24 before Beane.

* Kirk Allan Mason, 24, 1109 Quincy St., Apt. B, Parkersburg, was granted a new trial date and it was set for Oct. 16 before Judge Robert Waters. He was indicted by the May 2012 grand jury on a count of malicious assault.

* Terry Dwayne Hamrick, 51, 11 Summit Road, Parkersburg, entered a plea agreement with the state to plead guilty to a charge of third-offense DUI and his sentencing was set for 9:30 a.m. Sept. 17 before Waters. A motion for alternative sentencing or probation was taken under advisement.

* Joseph Carpenter, 25, 3408 Elm St., Parkersburg, was granted a continuance to Sept. 18. He was indicted by the September 2011 grand jury on charges of operating or attempting to operate a clandestine drug laboratory and conspiracy to operate or attempting to operate a clandestine drug laboratory.

* Rasha Alan-a Neff, also known as Rasha McConnell, 21, Columbus, Ohio, entered a plea agreement with the state to plead guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance, cocaine. Judge Jeffrey Reed set sentencing for 1 p.m. Sept. 24 and took a motion for alternative sentencing or probation under advisement.

* Amanda Brooke Starkey, 19, 1103 Juliana St., Parkersburg, entered a plea agreement to plead guilty to possession of a controlled substance, cocaine, and a misdemeanor bill of information charging her with possession of more than 15 grams of a controlled substance. Her sentencing was set for 1 p.m. Oct. 29 before Reed and a motion for probation or alternative sentencing was taken under advisement.

* John Edgar Jocoby, 31, in custody at the North Central Regional Jail, entered a plea agreement to plead guilty to a grand larceny charge as charged by the May 2012 grand jury. His sentencing was set for 9 a.m. Oct. 22 and a motion for probation or alternative sentencing was taken under advisement.

* Ashley Nicole Davis, 24, in custody at the North Central Regional Jail, entered a plea agreement to plead guilty to a charge of possession of more than 15 grams of a controlled substance. Her sentencing was set for 1 p.m. Oct. 22 and a motion for probation or alternative sentencing was taken under advisement.

* Robert Lee McElfresh, 19, in custody at the North Central Regional Jail, was referred to probation by Reed for a presentencing investigation before deciding to accept or reject the plea. A plea and possible sentencing hearing was set for 11 a.m. Aug. 24.
