Dorothy A. Mellon, 75, formerly of Belpre, Ohio, passed away June 22, 2012, at Tuscany Gardens in Pataskala, Ohio.
She was born in Parkersburg, W.Va., daughter of the late Clyde C. and Bonnie Hill Archer. Dorothy was a 1954 graduate of Parkersburg High School. She retired from Limited Brands in Columbus, Ohio, and was a homemaker. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, cooking, working jigsaw puzzles and was an Ohio State football fan.
She is survived by three sons, Robert Mellon Jr. and wife Mary of Marietta, Ohio, Michael Mellon and wife Sherri of Glenford, Ohio and Paul Mellon and companion Kelli of Little Hocking, Ohio; six grandchildren, Bobbi Sue Liston (Matt), John Mellon, Elisa Wharton (Jeremy), Elizabeth Blamer (James), Austin Mellon and Rachel Strahler-Meek (Josh); eight great-grandchildren, Tucker and Derek Liston, Maggie and Mollie Wharton, Jadelynne and Jamison Baker, and Braylon and Brooklynne Meek; and lifelong best friend, Alma Myers of Belpre, Ohio. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by three brothers.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 1305 Washington Blvd., Belpre, Ohio with Pastor Rich McClure officiating. Service will conclude with interment in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at the funeral home.
