PARKERSBURG - Camden Clark Medical Center will expand its presence in south Parkersburg as officials plan to open two offices to house primary care physicians, a spokesman said on Friday.

"There are a couple of things happening in south Parkersburg that we are pretty excited about," said Camden Clark spokesman Tim Brunicardi.

The offices in the Patriot Center and another along Pike Street will house several primary care physicians to serve residents in the area.

Camden Clark Medical Center is looking to open a physicians’ office in the Patriot Center on the south side of Parkersburg.

"We know south Parkersburg is in need of physician offices and we want to let them know Camden Clark Medical Center is doing something to provide them better access to health care," Brunicardi said.

It is undetermined how many physicians will be in either office or how many doctors in total Camden Clark is looking for, but physicians are being recruited, Brunicardi said.

"We are looking to recruit new physicians and may move current CCMC physicians to these facilities," he said.

It is not known when either of the offices will be open to the public as both are in the early planning stages.

"The Patriot Center office is our main target for now and will be open for patients by the end of the year," Brunicardi said.

The other facility is at least a year away, he said.

"The second office is a long way away, but it should be ready in a year or so," Brunicardi said.

The medical center has placed a legal notice in The Parkersburg News and Sentinel for the Patriot Center location. The West Virginia Health Care Authority will listen to and look into any and all objections for the facility to be opened.

The deadline for people to object is July 8 with the decision from the authority due July 27.
