Ilena Cox Nicholson, 98, of New Milton, W.Va., went home to be with her Lord on May 10, 2012, at United Hospital in Clarksburg, W.Va.
She was born March 24, 1914, in Doddridge County.
She graduated from Doddridge County High School in 1927, where she was the president of her Senior Class. She was married to the late Charles Richard Nicholson. She was a lifetime member of Locust Grove United Methodist Church. She worked for eight years as a pharmacy technician for Michael's Pharmacy in West Union, W.Va.
She is survived by her two children, which were the pride and joy of her life, daughter, Judy (Lynn) Hickman of Williamstown, W.Va., and son, Richard (Lynda) Nicholson of Salem, W.Va.; grandchildren, Terry (Veronica) Hickman of Belpre, Ohio, Debbie (Larry) Pickens of Parkersburg, W.Va., Mark (Brenda) Hickman of St. Albans, W.Va., Michelle (Michael) Helm of Vienna, W.Va., Stephen Nicholson of Woodbridge, Va., and Heather (Chad) Kopshina of Pennsboro, W.Va.; great-grandchildren, Dallas Hickman, Erika Snyder, Kasey and Rachel Hickman, Jeremy Hickman, Jessica Freed, Matthew, Ryan and Christina and Lauren Helm, and Selica, Hannah and Sydney Kopshina; several great-great-grandchildren; and beloved nieces and their families and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob Cox and Emma Blanche Willis; brothers, Ora, Brent, Charles, Denver, Carl and Cecil Cox; and sisters, Vada Willis, Dessie Davis, Mary Giles, Hilda Barnett and Geraldine Warner.
A memorial service, with Pastor Randy Dornon officiating, will be held at a later date, to be announced at the family's discretion.
