Robert W. Moore, 96, of Belpre, Ohio, died May 11, 2012, at Ohio Valley Health Care in Parkersburg.
He was born in Belmont, Ohio, on Feb. 20, 1916, and was the son of the late Fred and Flossie Gump Moore.
He was a longtime member of Belpre Church of Christ. He worked in the coal mine in Granttown in 1933, DuPont at Morgantown in 1941, Deep Water, N.J., in 1944, was a construction boiler maker in 1945, Hayden Chemical Co. in 1946, Olin Matheson in 1952, as a construction pipefitter in 1955 and then going to work for DuPont at Parkersburg in 1959 until his retirement in 1977. He loved hunting, fishing and traveling. He loved sharing his love for the Lord with his family and friends and caregivers.
Survivors include his son, Rodney (Penny) Moore, Vienna, W.Va.; two daughters, Ruth Ann (Lee) Pratt, Columbiana, Ohio, and Melanie (Paul) Richards, Galloway, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Louise Moore; a daughter, Roberta Kay Miller; a grandson, Mark Pratt; two sisters; and a brother.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Belpre Church of Christ with Ron Laughery officiating. Burial will follow in Rockland Cemetery. Friends may call at Belpre Church of Christ from noon until time of services Monday.
