Harold W. Bell, 96, of Parkersburg, passed away Friday, May 8, 2010, at Eagle Pointe.
He was born May 29, 1913, in Wirt County, W.Va., a son of the late James W. and Lelia Ruble Bell.
He served in the U.S. Navy as a hospital corpsman during World War II and the Korean War. He was retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways as an inspector; was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and American Legion Post 15.
He is survived by two sons, Lewis Bell of Pittsburg, Pa., and Jaime Bell of Belpre; two brothers, Torrence R. Bell and his wife, Gladeline, of Walker, W.Va., and Jefferson W. Bell and his wife, Juanita, of Parkersburg; three grandchildren, Matthew Bell and Darli Walker of Pittsburg, Pa., and Jordan Bell of Parkersburg; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bakely Bell and Luke Bell; and his former wife, Evelyn.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg, with Pastor Daniel Morikone officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
