PARKERSBURG — The eighth annual Red, White and Blue Riverboat ARC Cruise helped raise funds for the Mid-Ohio Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross at the Parkersburg Art Center. More than 200 people attended the yearly party Saturday night for festivities including bingo, a food buffet and a spa lounge. “Things went smoothly and everyone seems to have had a good time,” said Elizabeth Fligor, event coordinator with the Red Cross chapter. “We had more than 200 people come in first hour and people kept coming.” The event was expected to raise more than $10,000, as opposed to the less than $10,000 made at last year’s event. “Honestly, our initial goal is $10,000, but I think we will get more than that,” Fligor said. Shannon Taylor, coordinator of the silent auction, said she had never seen so many items in the event’s auction. “We typically have about 70 items, but this year we have more than 100,” she said. “They were all donated by area businesses, which is just amazing.
