Dresses and styles for this prom season range from simple black to bright colors and bold floral patterns, according to local dress stores.
PARKERSBURG — Each prom season comes with its own choice of styles, colors and patterns of dresses. “This year is all about being unique, different,” said Carolyn Glore, owner of Carolyn’s Touch of Difference at 3009 Murdoch Ave. “There is no certain style or color that is more popular.” One thing is certain for this year’s prom style: bright colors, said Dawn Fox, manager of Elizabeth Michaels at 1505 Grand Central Ave., Suite B, Vienna. “The traditional colors of red and black are available, but girls are coming in looking for yellows and pinks and greens that are really bright,” she said. Not only are colors bright, but both Fox and Glore said prints are bold. “The prints are large this year — big flowers and large appliques on the dresses,” Fox said. Glore said that while last year was all about the animal prints, including animal prints in pinks and blues, this year is about flowers. “Floral prints have over taken animals,” she said.
